People with bricklaying training may benefit from news that there are to be 70 new jobs created in the sector.
A number of new contracts have been won by Hodgkinson Bricklaying Contractors to build a variety of schools, a hospital and a hotel, among other sites in Birmingham.
Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, managing director Ian Hodgkinson, said: "Considering we are in the grip of an economic downturn, this has to be brilliant news - not only for the company but also for people with skills in this part of the world."
In total the contracts are worth more than £3 million.
"Our recent successes have been phenomenal and there are certainly more to come," Mr Hodgkinson added.
Earlier the company created an additional 20 positions to its construction team after securing £2 million worth of contracts.
Last week it was announced that there would be a new government adviser on the construction industry.
