As Gas Safety Week 2023 gets underway Able Skills is proud to once again support what is always such an important campaign for ensuring health and safety is priority number one in the gas industry.
Running from 11-17 September, the annual awareness week, which has been led by the Gas Safe Register since 2010, provides a platform for the gas industry, consumer organisations and individuals to come together and focus their communications on one core message, highlighting the life-saving importance of gas safety for the whole week.
Health and safety negligence in the gas industry can lead to potentially fatal consequences. In the UK, between 40 and 50 people die and an estimated 200 people are hospitalised every year due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Gas Safety Week not only emphasises the huge responsibility held by those working in the industry, but is also an effective period to remind homeowners about the safety steps they can take when it comes to their own gas appliances.
Throughout this week, we will be making use of the free Gas Safe tool kit, decorating the Able Skills training centre with Gas Safety Week posters and providing leaflets for anyone to take away and read.
We will also be publishing regular Gas Safe-focused content across our social media channels and blog over the course of the week, echoing the key messaging and advice from the Gas Safe Register.
As an experienced gas training provider, we truly understand just how crucial health and safety are to the industry, and this is something we instil as soon as a person begins their learning with us.
All Able Skills gas courses meet the latest and highest possible standards of industry rules and regulations.
