Able Skills recently welcomed a governmental delegation of representatives from Japan's construction industry.A working group of University professors and construction company delegates got in touch with Able Skills to arrange a tour of our facilities in order to learn more about construction trades training. The group was created by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Forestry Agency in order to design a new institution especially to promote wooden houses.Japan currently has no training system for its construction industry and relies on apprenticeship schemes to educate and assess workers so the governmental delegation was dispatched to Able Skills to view our cutting-edge centre. The delegation chose to visit Able Skills because they recognised that we were leading the way in the field of construction trades training thanks to our investment in new centres equipped with the latest technologies.Jed Smith, Able Skills Renewables Training Manager, was on hand to lead the tour and provide technical information as well as demonstrating how the training equipment worked. The delegates were extremely impressed with the sheer volume of training equipment available and by the wide variety of courses on offer.
