We love a success story here at Able Skills and recently we have just been made aware of another one. Former students, Kate and Ella who trained with us last year are now smashing it out in the industry.
Kate and Ella were first at Able Skills back in August 2017 when they completed an Introduction to Plastering Course. After enjoying the course so much they decided to book another course and then completed the Introduction to Plumbing Course. They haven’t looked back since.
The original reason for the course was to help them renovate both their new homes and after the plastering course they just wanted to come back for more. During the time between both courses they were hard at work with their plastering skills on their homes and successfully completed it
As both Kate and Ella were on Maternity leave, they decided to make the most of their time and get some skills to build up their new homes and they are now looking much further. Property Development is on their minds and after their plumbing course they were looking at carpentry and bricklaying courses.
Since last year they have gone on leaps and bounds. Both left their day jobs for a new career in Property Development. Just last week they sold their first house and are raring to go for a big 2019. Along with this they have set themselves up a fantastic plastering business which is keeping them busy with so much work. They have also, completed a fantastic bathroom install.
Kate and Ella have shown it is possible to be success in a career in construction and they want to give a huge thanks to all their instructors, especially Spencer and Jo.
With more females now getting involved in construction we are seeing a huge increase in female students deciding to train and learn a trade. However, with the construction industry being massively male dominated, it can put women off. Ella and Kate are among so many women that are now seeing the construction industry as a potential career path.
