Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations.

What will the course cover?

The course is completely theory focused and will look at furthering your understanding of the latest wiring regulations and how to apply the regulations using standard design practices on the job.  On top of this, you'll learn more about design procedures, including all the many calculations. Our instructors are highly knowledgable in terms of electrics as a whole and will look to expand your comprehension surrounding topics like; design and verification procedures for single and polyphase electrical installations, the fundamental principles for the design and installation of associated protective systems relating to electrical installations and the factors that affect the choice of alternative energy sources and environmental technologies used within electrical installation design.

How is this course assessed?

This course goes beyond the initial 5-days. Firstly, at the end of the course, a week or so after the initial training you will take on a City & Guilds set written exam taken here in our dedicated exam room. The course includes a structured revision to ensure that during the break between the course and exam you will have the knowledge fresh in your mind. Next, you will need to start working towards completing a 'design project'. This is a gathering of evidence in many ways, you'll have 40-hours to complete it and accumulate prepared working drawings, calculations, expected test results in the form of an Operation and Maintenance manual and so on. You'll then send this to your instructor who will mark it in house and send you your results.
