Construction firm Balfour Beatty may have inspired more demand for electrical courses by scoring a second major deal of the past few months.

The Derby contract is said to be worth about £220 million and will see the company build 14 schools in three phases between now and September 2014, reported Building.co.uk.

With the construction of these buildings there is likely to be a need for workers who have taken electrical courses to help set up certain areas of the site.

The online resource revealed that this latest deal for Balfour Beatty follows on from the £300 million Ealing contract that it won in April ahead of rival Wates.

It added that there is set to be a review carried out by the current Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition government of all the school building projects that have not been allocated a preferred bidder.

Chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne is set to unveil an emergency budget on June 22nd, which will tell the country how the national deficit is going to be tackled.
