The first step to becoming a Carpenter is making the decision to change your career. It’s far from an easy decision to make especially when you have been doing the same job in the same industry for years.
Although changing a career is never easy, it can be well worth it in the long run. Our carpentry courses allow you to make that change and have a fresh start. When becoming a Carpenter, some people will not always know how to get started. However, our courses are the perfect way to get started in a very popular and rewarding industry.
There are various routes for you to go down, whether you are looking at site work or standard domestic work, we have the courses available in our Dartford centre for you. From City & Guilds Qualifications and Diplomas to the big NVQs. However, the starting point is always the same with the basic hand skills which will take you through and put you in good stead going into your new career.
Along with carpentry training, we also offer combined packages that offer joinery training and qualifications with it. Here you can see in more detail what course is for you:
- Accredited Carpentry Course
- City & Guilds Carpentry Course
- City & Guilds Carpentry & Joinery Course
- NVQ Level 2 Carpentry Course
- NVQ Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery Course
- Level 2 Carpentry Diploma
- City & Guilds Joinery Course
Across all our training programmes we offer full-time and weekend training, this gives the opportunity for everyone to retrain. Also, the flexibility our training offers means you can structure your course to best suit your everyday life.
If your plan is to work on-site as a Carpenter, you’ll need to achieve an NVQ because without one you will get a CSCS Card and without one site work will be impossible for you. NVQs involve training as well as site-based assessments. Once your training is complete our NVQ assessor will have to assess you working on a building site. To gain access you will need a temporary skilled workers card to achieve this and eventually achieve your full CSCS Skilled workers card.
