Here today at Able Skills, some of our bricklaying students working towards their NVQ in the trade are completing work right here in our centre...This is in no way how you will typically achieve an NVQ but we require some bricklaying work in our plastering centre so these particular students are able to complete their NVQ right here!

What is an NVQ?
Any NVQ or National Vocational Qualification is a test of competency in the world of construction and acts as a seal of approval. NVQs are ‘Declarations of Competence’ and as such, cannot be achieved in a simulated environment like a training centre – all we can do here is prepare you for the process and we do this very well. You don’t need to have an NVQ to apply for a CSCS Site Labourers card, however, you will need to gain an NVQ if you are looking to gain a more respected and recognised card such as a blue CSCS (Skilled worker) card.
