Britons who have gained their approved electrician qualifications by completing an electrical course might benefit from increasing job prospects thanks to a new agreement.
According to Communities and Local Government, a multi-area agreement has been signed by Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Hackney, which will see new powers granted to the east London boroughs by central government.
These include direct funding to boost local jobs and skills support, as well as ensuring public areas are ready for the raft of visitors expected to arrive in the areas for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Commenting on the news, communities secretary John Denham said: "Our joint aim is to close the gap between east London and the rest of London. This means more jobs, more skills training and a high quality environment. "
The London Olympic Games will take place from July 27th to August 12th 2012, with the Paralympic Games getting underway between August 29th and September 9th.
