Can I get involved in Inspection and Testing courses?
Working towards becoming a professional electrician? Along the way, processing through electrician courses, there are certain areas of expertise you'll need to gain an understanding of one of which is Inspection and Testing. Our Level 2 Inspection & Testing course is the perfect way to fully understand testing, it also provides you with a qualification and certificate to show you are competent to undertake the work. It is a very essential skill and qualification to have for anyone undertaking electrical installations. This course is also our stepping stone to our more advanced Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing which is seen as a more difficult qualification to acquire, let's take a look at both these options in more detail...
During the Level 2 Inspection & Testing course, you will cover a massive amount of aspects over a period of 5-days. This course is intensive, you will learn an awful lot over this short amount of time including gaining knowledge on the following; electrical hazards & safety, safe isolation procedures, correct use of testing instruments, the correct sequence of tests, protective conductors, ring final circuits, insulation resistance, SELV (Separated Extra Low Voltage), special installations and locations, IP Codes, polarity, earth electrodes, earth fault loop impedance and much more...This may all seem intimidating but our instructors have years of experience teaching this specific course and know how to deliver it simply and effectively.
The more advanced Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing qualification is 6-days long and will really give you a more in-depth understanding of testing electrical installations and understanding the results. The instructor will go through everything that you will be expected to know about Inspection and Testing on both new and existing installations. This is again a theory-based course mostly taught within a classroom, completed via an online examination taken in our dedicated exam room, plus a practical test to ensure that you've understood what you have been taught. Which will comprise of a full Initial verification and a Periodic inspection (combined within the same assessment) of a three-phase electrical installation, including completion of all appropriate documentation.
