No experience? If you are starting out and confident that you would like to pursue a new career as a plumber then there really is only one option. Our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing course is the ultimate starting point for anybody with little or no knowledge about the trade. The course is 6-weeks and will teach you to become a plumber from start to finish. This course is suitable for people with a minimum amount of knowledge, as this option and qualification forms the basis of knowledge for all modern domestic plumbing and is therefore an excellent starting point for anyone looking for a career as a Plumber.
You'll learn everything from the essentials like pipe-skills, being able to properly bend and shape copper pipes using the correct equipment with accuracy - To understanding the theory that goes into the daily tasks of a plumber, coving topics like; electrical principles and processes, common plumbing processes, cold water systems, domestic hot water systems, sanitation, central heating systems and more. You will learn these subjects through a real mix of both classroom-based lessons as your instructor conducts seminar like sessions and hands-on practical experience out in our workshops where you will get stuck into the fundamentals of the trade.
What's Next?
Once you have learnt the fundamentals of plumbing you may want to expand your knowledge. For example, you could take on our Water Regulations Course which will give you a useful understanding of the regulations and their application out on the job, this course in particular is aimed at individuals who wish to carry out work with a local water company. Beyond plumbing courses, many plumbers after a few years out in the industry look to learn the trade of Gas - Learning the additional trade means that you are more versatile as a trader and have more opportunities to earn. Both trades go hand-in-hand and many of the skills you'd already know as a professional plumber will map over to Gas work.
We know that this is a very common path for plumbers to take and therefore we have set-up Qualified Plumber Gas Training Packages - These packages like our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 2 are designed to help qualified plumbers learn the trade of gas and to prepare for 'Gas Safe Registration' through 5-weeks of hands-on training learning the necessary skills and knowledge as well as looking at how to put together a portfolio together filled with evidence that you can complete gas work to a good standard and ending with an ACS exam taken here at our centre.
