Decorating courses at Able Skills

No experience?

If you have no experience and you would first like to gain the fundamentals and a taste of the trade then  a great place to start is our 5-day Introduction to Decorating course.

This course will lay the foundation of knowledge for you and ultimately give you a chance to know whether or not the trade is for you and something that you could see yourself doing on a daily basis.

This short course is ideal for individuals who want to gain an insight into Painting & Decorating as a whole, maybe with a view to progressing further and achieving qualifications.

Getting qualified in decorating

Serious about the trade?

If you already have a little experience and you are sure you want to gain a qualification in the trade then you may want to look at getting involved with our City & Guilds Painting & Decorating Course.

This course is the perfect starting point for somebody looking to become a professional. Over a period of 5 weeks, you will cover a lot of different subjects and aspects of the trade, progressing from a novice to a competent decorator.

Guided by our very experienced instructors, during the hands-on training you will build a portfolio of your painting and decorating work.

What's next?

Work towards NVQ level 2 in decorating

After completing this course, if you are looking to achieve NVQ at level 2 then you will need training to prepare you for this.

You can opt to spend another two weeks with us which will provide you with reality training, preparing you for the workplace and providing you with access to a CSCS card.

If you feel that this is your preferred option from the outset, you may wish to consider the NVQ Level 2 option. This is if you want to work outside of a domestic setting.

So the question is: are you looking to start a business and renovate/decorate homes or do you want to work on projects and construction sites?

Make sure to read through the two options on our site and decide on the best option for you.
