Looking into learning Plumbing and Gas? These two trades go hand in hand, many professional plumbers eventually train and gain qualifications in the trade of Gas. Why not get ahead of the competition as a new entrant starting out and learn them both with our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing & Gas Courses. Obviously this does not mean that you will learn both skills at the same time, instead, you will first learn plumbing over a period of 6-weeks before taking on the Gas training over 5-weeks. This is a great opportunity to put this year behind you and start working towards new opportunities and prepare to enter a new industry and kick-start a successful career!

What will I learn?
The plumbing course will effectively teach you to become a plumber from scratch. Starting with the absolute basics and over the 6-weeks taking on more and more difficult aspects of the trade. The course will cover a range of different topics like; electrical principles and processes, common plumbing processes, cold water systems, domestic hot water systems, sanitation, central heating systems and drainage systems that you will work through guided by our talented instructors who are experts in the trade of plumbing. It will involve a mix of both classroom-based theory and workshop experience so that you not only know how to complete plumbing tasks but you understand why you are doing what you are doing.
Once you have completed the assessments you will move on to the Gas side of the combined course. This 5 weeks long Gas course is essential training and assessment to gain access to the Gas Industry. This training programme will provide you with a really good inside look at the Gas industry and present you with an understanding of the guidelines and regulations which currently govern the ACS scheme. Our instructors will be teaching you the fundamentals of the trade as well as touching on their own experiences when starting out in the industry and how you can avoid common mistakes and make the best possible start in your new career.

To help your success on the plumbing course, we will provide you with a level 2 Plumbing reference book. To assist you throughout the gas training process, we will provide you with a comprehensive training manual and also a gas portfolio at the end. We want the best for all of our students and aim to give you an unbelievable starting point - Another thing to note is that both the level 2 Plumbing and the Gas training aspects of this package are available Full Time, Part Time at Weekends (on a 2 weekend on and 2 weekend off basis) and the Plumbing aspect is also available as a Home Study option whereby you can attend in pre-designated separate weekly blocks over a longer period of time.
How do I get started?
Well, the spaces we currently have available for this City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing & Gas Course all start on the 4th of January 2021! That's the first Monday of the new year. Booking courses with us is simple and can be done in a few different ways. Firstly, you can just give us a call on 01322 280 202. Over the phone, we can answer any questions you may have, provide guidance and get you booked in. Secondly, you can come and visit us in person, no need for an appointment or even to call ahead, simply come and visit us and get booked onto a course, even look around our facility for yourself. Finally, you can book courses with us online, simply find the course you're interested in and look for the green button marked 'Reserve your Space' from there you can choose a date and fill in your details. Live too far? If you are interested in training with us here at Able Skills but live a considerable distance from our centre then you may be thinking about securing accommodation for the duration of your training. We actually have our own accommodation exclusively available to our students, located just a short walking distance and available for the reasonable price of £20 per night it's a great option for those that live outside of the local area. - If you are interested make sure to contact us ahead of your courses starting date as spaces are limited.
