A 23-year-old woman from Swindon has won a BBC competition to find the most capable tradespersons to have recently completed plumbing courses.
Aimee Patterson was crowned Young Plumber of the Year and told BBC News that her victory shows that females can be just as good as men in the plumbing sector.
However, she stopped short of saying that women on plumbing courses are better than their male counterparts, instead telling the news provider that she thinks the sexes are just different in their abilities.
Ms Patterson went on to describe the plumbing business as "brilliant", adding: "I've got so much passion for the industry and I love what I'm doing."
Among the challenges she and her fellow contestants had to overcome were unblocking a toilet, soldering pipes and building a fountain.
This week, the Health and Safety Executive highlighted how plumbing training is a legal requisite if people want to carry out on certain appliances that utilise gas.
