People taking electrical courses to help them carry out DIY projects should not expect the price of items to increase in the future.
This is the view of Jason Orme, editor at Homebuilding & Renovating, who made his comments after it was announced that 120 Focus DIY stores are set to close.
In his opinion, the news will have very little impact on the prices charged and ranges offered by major chains, with people on electrical courses unlikely to see much change at all.
Mr Orme said: "[The Focus DIY closure] is really less a reflection of the wider market and probably more a reflection of the individual company, I would suspect."
He went on to say that there is still plenty of competition out there for people that are serious about doing home improvement work.
Ernst & Young have been confirmed as administrators for Focus, with Gordon Brothers onboard to advise on the sale of the firm's stock.
