Interest in PV training may have been boosted in Berkshire after plans emerged for two local schools to install solar panels on their roofs.
The Forest School in Winnersh and Waingels College in Woodley have been encouraged by Wokingham Borough Council to add the green power generators to their facilities, according to Get Wokingham.
Speaking to the news provider, councillor Rob Stanton, executive member for children's services at the local authority, described the proposals as a "good idea".
If more schools in the area opt to have solar panels installed, it could prompt more local tradesmen to consider PV training.
"Quite a lot of schools are looking at [solar panels]. They are a good thing, [they] save money and set the right tone," Mr Stanton was quoted as saying.
The online resource explained that it is part of the council's efforts at cutting emissions in the area.
Shoppers may also be able to get their hands on solar panels at their local supermarket, after Sainsbury's announced a partnership with British Gas to sell and offer advice regarding such devices.
