There could be increased interest in renewable energy courses after Chesterfield Borough Council showed off its developments to Chris Huhne.
The MP and energy and climate change secretary visited the town to see the council's work in installing renewable energy technology on its buildings, Build.co.uk reported.
It is aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of the council and the private sector, as well as using the buildings to provide an example to domestic homeowners on what changes they can make to reduce their impact on the environment.
"Installing green energy is a triple win: it's good for tackling climate change, good for securing our energy supplies and good for jobs," said Mr Huhne as he visited the energy saving Casa Hotel.
People on renewable energy courses may also be interested to hear that Mr Huhne has also visited Marwell Wildlife recently to discuss plans for eco-friendly heat and electricity plants for the park's animals.
