Those searching for a plumbing training course might be interested to learn that a project to reduce water leakage in Crewe is continuing to make progress.
FTSE 100 company United Utilities is working to replace an old trunk main between Acton Road and Lockitt Street as part of its £2.9 billion water quality and environmental improvement scheme for 2005-2010.
Ian Grzelak, the project manager at the Cheshire-based firm, apologised for any temporary inconvenience the work might cause to local residents.
"We will do everything we can to maintain access for pedestrians and vehicles where possible, but we would like to advise customers in the local area in advance that some restrictions may be experienced," he said.
Having completed work in the Queens Park area, engineers have now started working towards Lockitt Street and locals are informed that they should be aware of bogus callers claiming to be involved in the programme, as United Utilities engineers will not need to visit properties.
