Do you have a Level 2 or 3 Electrician course booked with us?
If you had either City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 electrical course booked with us due to start in the coming weeks or months Able Skills is willing to switch your course to our 'Home-Study' option allowing you to get learning straight away! We will send you information on how to access the online learning tool Smartscreen and our 'Home-Study Pack' which includes all of the theory necessary for each qualification. During these uncertain times, we want to give you the option to get started with your training as like everyone we can't put a date on when we will resume providing training courses as usual, at our centre. If you did have an upcoming course booked we will be sending you all emails with further information but let's look at how these courses work...

How does 'Home-Study' work?
Well, as pictured above you will receive a home-study pack filled with information, electrical formula and even example test questions. We recommend that you take your time with this material as well as referring to the online platform Smartscreen and do your best to understand what you have been given for around 3 - 6 months. Making sure that you are confident in this theory is critical for when we are back to business as usual. You are in effect replacing the electrical instructor and classroom environment by of learning the theory of the trade at home, at your own pace. When it comes to the practical side, when we resume training / electrician courses you will be able to book your time here at our centre here in Dartford, Kent. Level 2 requires 4-weeks of practical training and Level 3 requires just 3-weeks. These weeks can be chosen by you and should be separate, you will, of course, need to complete online, written exams and assignments during this time.
The Home Study Electrics Level 2 and Home Study Electrics Level 3 courses are just as valuable as the traditional courses, you will learn the exact same lessons in every respect when it comes to both practical and theory. Additionally, you will achieve the exact same level of industry recognised City & Guilds qualification, the only difference is the amount of time that the course will take to complete, however, at this moment in time with our current suspension on training this option is a no-brainer, being able to get started learning right away!
