A home improvement expert has noted that there are a lot of modern men who are not very good at DIY, which suggests they could benefit from plumbing courses.
Andrew Leech, director of the National Home Improvement Council, described how such abilities have become something of a "lost art", with less males able to carry out tasks around the house.
This could mean that men would do well to sign up to training such as plumbing courses, particularly since Mr Leech claimed more women are now picking up the tools as a result of the incompetence of their other halves.
"The female part of the partnership feels obliged to contribute towards saving by doing certain jobs themselves," he said.
His comments were made in response to a survey by Bosch, which showed that more women are getting involved in DIY, with 78 per cent saying they have used power tools to improve their properties in the past.
