Workers who have successfully completed an electrical course could find themselves in increasing demand to assist homeowners with property improvement projects.
According to recent figures from Santander, 39 per cent of Britons are planning on renovating their house in some way over the next 12 months.
And Rob Nathan, group marketing manager at Media 10, which ran the Ideal Home Show, commented that he has already seen a rise in the number of people purchasing products to use for a DIY project.
"Consumer confidence seems to be back and they are buying more and they are spending more on redecorating their home," he said.
He added that there is currently a lot of interest in items for kitchen and bathroom upgrades.
And it could be this growth in home improvement sparks an increase in demand for workers who have taken electrical or plumbing courses and are able to carry out schemes to an extremely high standard.
