The number of workers who have taken electrical courses being called out to help with home renovation schemes could be set to soar, following comments from an expert.
Figures from Santander recently showed that 39 per cent of Brits are planning on giving their property a makeover in the next 12 months.
And Andrew Bernard, actor and JML's resident DIY presenter, commented that people should not be afraid to do some DIY around the house as long as they remember that safety should be the most important priority.
However, he explained that there are certain jobs that should only be carried out by professionals.
"When it comes to wiring, unfortunately DIY is out of the window you have to have a qualified electrician because of certain criteria with the government," he said.
As a result of his remarks, it could be that the employment prospects of workers who have successfully completed electrical courses receive a boost.
