Electrical courses 'could offer lighting boost for homeowners'

Homeowners could benefit from the skills of individuals who have completed electrical courses when it comes to provide mood lighting and creating the perfect ambience in the home, it has been claimed.

Eva Hammerson, head of design at designer brand Kandabi, said the integration of mood lighting into a property can help to create that wow factor that sets a home apart from the others and delivers a fantastic space in which to live.

She commented: "Mood lighting is all about injecting extra character into a space, visual drama, a sense of calmness and relaxation, an element of frivolity and fun ... or a combination of any of the above."

Meanwhile, Jason Orme, editor at Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, recently claimed that Brits should look to get their hands dirty with DIY jobs around the home.

However, he warned that there are certain jobs that should always be left to professionals, including plumbing and electrical.
