People who have recently completed - or who are currently undertaking - electrical training courses may welcome remarks from one sector expert about the housing market.

Stuart Law, chief executive at Assetz, made his comments after the publication of figures from the Council of Mortgage Lenders which showed that gross mortgage lending rose by two per cent from August to September.

The numbers from the CML indicated that total lending stood at £12.5 billion for the month.

"It is a very positive sign. Mortgage lending has materially recovered, the current mortgage lending numbers are not as good as they were in 2007 but that [is because of the] reduced availability of low-deposit mortgages," Mr Law stated.

Positive steps within the housing market could mean that people are able to purchase new homes and have extensive upgrade work done, which could be undertaken by those who have completed accredited electrical training courses.
