Tradespersons who have completed an electrician training course could find that their job prospects are given a boost by a new Carillion joint venture (JV) project.
It was recently revealed by the construction firm - which currently employs around 50,000 people - that it has reached financial close on a £600 million public private partnership (PPP) deal to deliver the 800-bed Southmead Hospital.
The company will originally supply construction services, followed by facilities management and maintenance for 30 years.
It is also expected that the hospital will be one of the most sustainable in the UK, with the group hoping for a BREEAM rating of excellent - which could provide jobs for electricians needed to install top-of-the-range, energy-efficient equipment.
Chief executive John McDonough commented: "Carillion has financially closed over 50 PPP projects in the UK and Canada, including 19 hospitals and other healthcare facilities and the new Southmead Hospital project will be our largest PPP hospital to date."
