Experienced Plumber looking to achieve an NVQ?
Looking to begin working on-site? If you are an experienced plumber but you have yet achieved an NVQ then you're in the right place. We can help you complete a Level 2 National Vocational Qualification by providing a qualified assessor who can visit you at your place of work to establish your competence, supply guidance on your portfolio completion and generally help you on your way to achieving a Plumbing NVQ. This is not like our traditional plumbing courses and is more of a assessment process which takes place wherever you are undertaking plumbing work.
What is an NVQ?
For anybody looking to work outside of a domestic-setting as a plumber you will most likely require an NVQ to begin working on-site, such as a construction project. By definition an NVQ is a 'vocational qualification' meaning you will need to be tested whilst on the job, yes, you will need to be employed or self-employed currently.
Experienced Plumbers:
Able Skills has developed a process to assist experienced workers currently working in the plumbing industry to achieve a Level 2 NVQ. If you have worked as a plumber for many years and you are at a point in your career at which you are looking to achieve this qualification this route to achieve NVQ doesn’t require you to attend our centre instead we will simply send an assessor to your place of work to carry out the required assessments on 2-separate occasions...
Experienced Plumbers – With Qualifications:
The existing Plumbing qualifications that you hold will likely map over to the NVQ and you will just need to be assessed in the work-place.
For level 2, the work based Plumbing assessments will be to establish your competence in being able to:
- Maintain the Safe Working Environment when Undertaking Work Activities.
- Maintain Effective Plumbing Working Relationships.
- Contribute to the Improvement of the Plumbing Work Environment.
- Install Non-complex Plumbing Systems and Components.
- Decommission Non-complex Plumbing Systems.
- Maintain Non-complex Plumbing Systems and Components
