Experienced plumber seeking qualifications?
Have you already been working as a plumber for a while but haven't achieved any official qualification? If you have been working as a plumber for at least 3-years and haven't previously attended any plumbing courses then we have the solution to get you qualified. Our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course for Experienced Plumbers is not a training course, it is an assessment process as we understand that people end up in the trade through alternative ways to traditional training and having worked for some time we most likely will not need to teach you much. Instead, this course is an assessment process to establish your knowledge as a Plumber and to show that you can meet the competence requirements of this level 2 Plumbing Diploma.
How does this work?
Experienced but non-qualified Plumbers will be provided with a 'Home Study pack' which covers the individual theory units which are then assessed in centre by way of online multiple choice exams. Candidates suitable for this fast track route will be allocated 10-days in centre to complete all practical tasks and the associated online exams taken here in our dedicated exam room. As an experienced plumber you will need to bring your own tools for practical tasks and before the course you will need to show evidence that you have spent tie working out in the industry - This can be by way of employer references, witness testimonies and so on.
Considered an NVQ?
An NVQ or National Vocational Qualification can be very beneficial for your career as a plumber. At Able Skills we have plumbing assessors in place that can visit you at your place of work and establish your competence, give guidance on portfolio completion and help you on your way to achieving a Plumbing NVQ. This is especially important when looking to work on construction sites and other on-site roles outside of a domestic setting in this trade, many work-sites will require this qualification. Our assessor will have to make 2-separate visits to ensure that you can carry out work correctly, efficiently and safely. You will be assessed in the following areas:
- Maintain the Safe Working Environment when Undertaking Work Activities.
- Maintain Effective Plumbing Working Relationships.
- Contribute to the Improvement of the Plumbing Work Environment.
- Install Non-complex Plumbing Systems and Components.
- Decommission Non-complex Plumbing Systems.
