Those who are embarking on plumbing courses may be inspired by the tale of one father and son duo who believe there are "recession-proof" opportunities in the sector at present.
Frank Cole told of how he discovered the Drain Doctor model of plumbing businesses and found that it is a proven way of running his own company in an independent manner.
His comments follow the news that Mr Cole and his son, Mark, have adopted the Bristol franchise of the firm and are now offering emergency plumbing and drain repairs to customers in Gloucester, Street, Wells, Cheddar and Weston-Super-Mare.
Mark said: "We aim to give businesses and householders in Bristol and the south-west the dazzling level of service in plumbing and drainage which Drain Doctor provides across the rest of the country."
