Our Gas Courses are on the up and we have added a Fault Finding course for qualified Gas Engineers.
We have now added a new fault finding course alongside our gas programmes. This comes with our revamped gas training programme and is available after the five-week managed learning programme. Once our students have finished their Gas Safety training, they will then complete their portfolio placement. After all this is complete we now offer a fault-finding course. This course is also available to qualified gas engineers who are looking to expand their skills and offer a wider service to their customers.
This is a five-day course and it is designed to teach our students how to fault find safely when working with gas appliances, including live gas boilers and central heating controls.
The idea of this is to increase the student’s employability when they leave our centre and look to go out and get a job within the gas industry.
Having provided portfolio placements for our students for quite some time now, it has become very apparent that despite comprehensive training and a work placement, candidate’s knowledge of boiler service, repair and maintenance is quite minimal. Because of this, we are introducing this additional week of training to cover various aspects such as:
Boiler Fault Finding:
- Multimeter training
- Electrical Safety tests
- Testing pumps
- Testing switches
- Fan Testing
- Fan switches
- Temperature sensors and stats
- Diverter Valves
- Domestic Heat Exchangers
- Expansion Vessels
Wiring & Controls:
- 3 Port 2 Port rigs
- Frost Protection
- S.I. Programmers
- Zone Valves
- Sequence of Wiring
- Fault Finding
Multimeter training is a key feature of this course as it teaches students how to operate the equipment correctly and safely.
In conclusion, this course is a very hands-on course working with a range of different branded boilers. Both new and old boilers to make sure they know how to work with various boilers. This also allows them to tackle realistic faults that they could come across in the real world.
If you are a qualified gas engineers or are currently training and would like to take the fault finding course, please contact us on 01322 280 202. We will be more than happy to help with any questions you may have.
