Tradesmen undertaking renewable energy courses are likely to be interested by the news that the government is reviewing its feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme.
Energy secretary Chris Huhne described how the state had not anticipated the construction of large-scale solar farms when it first introduced the incentive programme and this has prompted an official assessment of spending in this area.
The FIT project has been associated with more than 21,000 installations since it was brought in, with this popularity no doubt prompting many engineers to undertake renewable energy courses.
But Mr Huhne said he is concerned that major solar farms could soak up the funding available for such devices.
"The renewables industry is a vital piece in the green growth jigsaw and this review will provide long-term certainty," he added.
In a separate statement, the MP described how the assessment is vital in the context of the country's fiscal situation, with every area of government having to make cutbacks.
