From Home-Study to practical Electrician courses!
We are proud to be back in action at the centre giving students a safe and reliable space for students to progress and learn in after the strange lockdown period. Of course, we are doing our diligence in terms of social distancing, providing PPE, hand sanitiser and overall having a reduced number of students at the facility at any one time. There are a lot of people now looking to put this year behind them and work towards new opportunities and eventually a new career in electrics. We run a host of Electrician courses here at Able Skills including 'Home-Study' options which allow beginning with the theory side at home before attending the centre to begin practical learning and complete assessments. Below you can see our newest group on there the first week of practical classes, this group is doing particularly well and getting to grips with the fundamentals of the trade...
How does this option work?
The Home-Study options for both our Level 2 and Level 3 City and Guilds courses are fantastic options to achieve these industry-recognised qualifications. You will learn the exact same theory and practical skills like those on the traditional courses, the only difference is that you will effectively replace the instructor for the theory side with our 'Home-Study Pack' which will include all of the relevant information you need and will include things like test questions for you to check your knowledge along the way.
Once you feel confident that you understand all of the information provided you can contact us a book 4-weeks of practical training and exams, these dates are chosen by you and the weeks should be separated. Ideally, you should take at least 6-weeks reviewing the home study electrician pack before you consider attending for your first block of practical training. As you can see in the video, once you attend the centre you will get stuck in with practical tasks, gaining experience and putting the theory knowledge to use completing tasks and taking on assessments.
