Considered taking on our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing & Gas Course? This course combined both trades into one 11-week training scheme that will help you to achieve a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification in both. The two trades are notoriously similar in many aspects from the appliances they work with to the tools used on the job. Many experienced plumbers eventually find their way to learning the trade of Gas to not only expand their skill set but for broadening their opportunities and earnings...So why not learn them in conjunction with this combined course? How does this combined course work?
Obviously we do not expect our students to learn two different techniques at the exact same time. You will first take on a 6-week plumbing course before moving to a 5-week Gas course. Our Gas courses are usually 7-weeks but with the skills you will learn in the plumbing course you do not need the basics as the trades are very similar in their fundamentals! This is an industry accredited Plumbing qualification and you will learn about the various requirements of domestic plumbing. Topics of learning range from health and safety, electrical principles and processes, scientific principles, common plumbing processes, cold water systems, domestic hot water systems, sanitation, central heating systems and drainage systems. This 5 week long Gas course is essential training and assessment to gain access to the Gas Industry. Gas training is a mandatory part of becoming Gas Safe registered.
During the period of gas training, we will cover basic heating systems and heating controls, gas appliance functions and basic principles of flues and combustion. To complete these courses you will need to complete written and online examinations, you will also achieve an ACS for Gas which is a competence test for approving gas engineers.
