Demand for renewable energy courses in Glasgow may soon increase, as it has been named as one of two 'super cities' by HSBC in a new report.
Along with Bristol, the financial institution identified the Scottish destination as a place with huge potential for green growth that has already made major progress with sustainable energy.
The HSBC Future of Business report predicted thousands of jobs could be created in the sector, which may prompt more tradesmen to consider renewable energy courses.
Jim Whyte, a representative from Futures Laboratory, the group that produced the document, said: "The rise in offshore windfarms is fuelling growth already with more expected as countries across the world aim to reduce their dependency on fossil fuels."
He suggested the green power industry is allowing Glasgow to reassert its strength in engineering.
Last week, sustainability and communications director at Sustain Worldwide Gordon Miller claimed the public will become more interested in green energy as fuel prices grow.
