Technicians on plumbing courses in Essex may find there are new opportunities for work in the pipeline, as Southend's Golden Mile could be set to be redeveloped.
Southend Council leader Nigel Holdcroft welcomed the plans from the Inner London Group to create residential, commercial and retail areas in the town.
Engineers who have completed plumbing courses may be required during the course of construction work, particularly since 350 flats could be built between Marine Parade, Southchurch Avenue and Pleasant Road.
"It's to be welcomed if we have a proposal put forward by a company able to deliver it and if it's viable," added Mr Holdcroft.
