Industry professionals who have taken a green energy course could find that they are desperately needed to help Britain become more energy-efficient.

The government recently announced details of its Feed in Tariff that will give grants to people who generate their own eco-friendly electricity by using technology such as solar panels and small wind turbines from April 1st.

In addition, such homeowners will be rewarded for feeding electricity into the grid.

However, the Times reported this week that there are currently only around 500 qualified installers of eco-friendly devices, which could result in huge demand and employment opportunities soaring for tradespersons who have taken a green energy course.

Commenting on the Feed in Tariff, David Kidney, minister for energy and climate change, said that it could benefit Britons who are struggling financially.

"We are looking at ways that we will be able to help families in fuel poverty to get the best out of feed in tariffs this year," he explained.
