Green energy training apprentices will be pleased to learn that their sector will be "one step ahead" of the rest of the construction industry as the UK comes out of the recession, according to one expert.
Brian Berry, director of external affairs for the Federation of Master Builders, said that construction industries are currently looking to the future in a bid to think of new skill sets and technology.
His comments follow an announcement by Peter Mandelson of a new review of the construction industry, which aims to look into the ways in which it can adapt low-carbon strategies that can function in the global economy.
"[Companies] will be one step ahead as we come out of the recession if they are looking at ways to adopt low-carbon practices," stated Mr Berry.
He went on to insist that the new opportunities will be in green energy the nation pulls out of the economic downturn.
