There may soon be more demand for electrical courses if the popularity of electric cars reaches the level expected by one international leader.
German chancellor Angela Merkel spoke recently at the first Electro-Mobility Summit in Berlin and explained to the audience that the government is set to work alongside manufacturers to try to get one million electric vehicles on the roads over the next decade.
While no such pledge has been made in the UK, with Germany being a key force in global vehicle production, it is likely that this policy will have a knock-on effect on the popularity of such cars in Britain.
They are set to be powered by electric engines, which suggests that the need for engineers who have completed electrical courses is likely to increase.
Meanwhile, Toyota recently announced that it wants to have a fuel cell car in production by 2015 that costs less than $50,000 (£33,000).
