Home-Study both your Level 2 & 3 Electrician courses!
With the current uncertainty, we would like to shed light on our alternative training options. Home-Study options are a great way to get training straight away. These options aim to reduce the total amount of time needed here at our centre, by giving you the tools and information you need to learn the theory side of the trade, in your own home, at your own pace. We hope that this way of completing these electrician courses is useful to those of you aspiring to be successful electricians. How does this work? Will I have to learn them at the same time? How long is the course? - Today we will answer these questions and more, we will also talk about how to get involved and get ahold of your 'Home-Study Pack'...
When you attend our centre you will receive hands-on training, gaining valuable skills that you will use on a daily basis out in the industry.
How does this work?
We do not expect you to learn all of the theory surrounding both qualifications instead this course works in sections. By undertaking this ‘Home Study’ option, you are effectively replacing your access to an instructor in a classroom environment with a home learning theory pack. As this is the case, we have put together very comprehensive home study electrician packs to ‘replace the tutor’ but we will also provide email contact with one or more of our electrical assessors in case you have any questions not covered in the pack. We will also give you access to the online learning platform 'SmartScreen' which is the City & Guilds tutor and learner support website that aims to give support materials to those working towards a qualification. Once you apply to the course either over the phone or in-person we will send over your first pack!
- Firstly, you will receive a 'Home-Study Pack' containing all of the theory needed for the Level 2, with these materials we would expect you to spend at least 3 to 6 months studying and making sure that you have a full understanding of everything you have been provided with, there will even be test questions included so that you can see for yourself if you have retained the information.
- Next, and only when you feel confident in your new-found knowledge you will allocate 4-weeks during which you will learn the practical skills needed and complete assessments towards this Level 2 award. These weeks are chosen by you and should be separated.
- Third, the process starts again, now we will send you your Level 3 pack and again at your own pace and manner, you will need to work through the theory making sure that you are really committing to learning what you have been presented with. If you do not take the recommended 3 to 6 months you may fall behind when you begin attending our centre for practical training as our instructors will assume you understand the theory surrounding their teachings.
- Finally, you will attend our facility, this time for 3-weeks. Again these weeks are chosen by you and should be split up. During this time you will be taught more advanced practical skills and again complete the Level 3 award by way of on-line and written exams.

Need accommodation? We supply training to students from all over the country and even abroad. So it may be helpful for you to secure accommodation close to our centre for the duration of your course. We have our own accommodation available exclusively to our students for the reasonable price of £20 per night! - If you're interested in booking our accommodation make sure to contact us ahead of your course's starting date as spaces are limited!
