Home-Study Plumbing in 2020!

 

Here at Able Skills we know that not everybody has the time on their hands to commit to a full-time course but are still interested in gaining some quality training. So we offer alternative training methods such as weekend training and courses such as our Home Study Level 2 Plumbing Course - We currently haven't released dates for the new year for this particular course but we will be soon, so stay posted by following all of our social media platforms! This is a very popular course of ours and the spaces will go fast so keep your eye out for further information. 

 

How does this course work?

 

Well, if you are not familiar with our Home-Study courses they work by giving you the chance to learn in your own space. Now, obviously you cannot learn the entire trade by yourself. So, firstly, we provide you with a 'Home-Study Pack' and access to the online learning platform 'Smart-screen' with these two tools in conjunction you will learn as much of the theory surrounding plumbing as you can. Once you feel comfortable in this new found knowledge you will need to book in 4-weeks for both practical learning and completing assessments (The 4-weeks can be chosen by you and should be separate not one after another).

 

 

How will I learn?

 

When you come into our centre for the 4-weeks you will begin hands-on practical training - The course will provide you with a range of plumbing skills covering various topics including Electrical principles and processes, Common plumbing processes, Cold water systems, Domestic hot water systems, Sanitation, Central heating systems and Drainage systems. Do not take this course lightly, if you come in and begin practical learning without having the confidence that you should have reached from learning the theory you may lack behind.

This course option hopefully gives those potential students who have limited time of their hands the chance to gain a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in this trade. We want to provide everybody with the opportunity to gain top-quality training here at Able Skills...

If you live a considerable distance from our centre, please be aware that we do have accommodation available to our students for the reasonable price of £20 per night. The accommodation is located just a short walk away from our centre.  We hope that this gives some relief to students who are eager to gain training that live just out of reach.
