How to start as an aspiring plumber!

If you are thinking about becoming a professional plumber but want to get a feel for the trade before committing to a long-term course then you will want to take our 5-day Introduction to Plumbing course - Today we will talk about this course in particular, how it works, what you will learn, what our previous students think as well as where to go after completion if you are eager to continue learning the skill of plumbing!
Firstly, this short intensive course is not just going to provide you with the basics, the course is recognised by City & Guilds as an excellent introduction into the trade an because of that, upon completion you will receive a City and Guilds certificate at the end. Which makes it perfect to gain an insight into plumbing, maybe with a view to progressing further and achieving qualifications.

What will I learn?
During this 5-day course you will gain an overall feel for the trade through hands-on training that will give you confidence in the fundamentals. The course will cover all of the obvious issues that can arise within a domestic property in an attempt to teach you how to deal with certain things. The course will be taught by our talented plumbing instructors who have years of experience developed from both teaching here at our facility and from working out in the industry for many years, whilst on the course make sure to take advantage of their expertise, ask questions and seek guidance if you are confused at any point. They have experienced everything that can go wrong when working as a plumber and how to overcome those issues. The course will cover the following topics:
- Plumbing systems and fittings
- Soldering techniques
- Jointing, bending and pressure testing copper tube
- Dealing with valves, taps, cisterns
- Plumbing pipework
