A sector expert has highlighted the importance of training in the construction industry, which could inspire people to sign up to bricklaying courses.
Mark Brenner, chief executive of Building Engineering Services Training (Best), made his comments after his organisation announced partnerships with WCTS and QTS to provide ductwork and scaffolding apprenticeships.
He explained that such training schemes are needed in the construction industry in order to provide the sector with qualified workers, which may provoke workers to sign up to bricklaying courses in an effort to stay ahead of the curve.
"We know that key to the success of apprenticeships is the combination of the highest national standards with expert local delivery and that's exactly what these alliances enable us to offer," said Mr Brenner.
This year, Best also revealed it would be delivering a series of management training programmes, after it achieved the Institute of Leadership & Management approved centre status.
