Inspection and Testing courses are available here at our training centre, Inspection & Testing is an essential skill for most electricians. Our City and Guilds 2391-52 also known as our Level 3 Award in Inspection & Testing, combines all of the elements of Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing. This is seen as a more advanced qualification within the industry and therefore it's important that you have a solid foundation of knowledge on electrics as a whole before taking on this qualification. What will I learn?
The course is a theory focused course lasting 6-days. During this time you will learn about Inspection and Testing on both new and existing installations covering many different topics such as; How to correctly isolate electrical circuits and installations, what the requirements are for initial verification of electrical installations, understanding how to interpret test results and much more.
How does the assessment work?
To complete this course successfully, students must take on a written exam as well as an online exam comprising of around 60-questions taken in our dedicated exam centre. Additionally, to prove that you have understood the theory taught surrounding inspiration and testing you will need to successfully complete a 2.5-hour practical assignment.
The practical test will comprise of a full Initial verification and a Periodic inspection (combined within the same assessment) of a three-phase electrical installation, including completion of all appropriate documentation. If you have a good knowledge of electrics prior to this course you should have no problems achieving this award, make sure to ask questions and seek advice when needed after all you are here to learn and develop as an electrician.

There are many ways to book a course here at Able Skills. Firstly, you can just call us on 01322 280 202 between 8:30 - 4:30 any day of the week. We are happy to answer your questions, provide advice and get you booked. You can also simply walk into our office during opening hours to discuss your options and book a course in person. Finally, you can book courses with us online, simply look for the course you're interested in and find the green button marked 'Reserve your Space' from there you can select a date that suits you and fill in your information. We have accommodation available exclusively for our students set at a reasonable price of £20 per night! - If you are interested in booking accommodation for the duration of your course make sure that you contact us well ahead of when your course is due to start as spaces are limited!
