Inspection & Testing courses are available at Able Skills, whether you are completing them separately or together, we can offer them both.
We offer both 2394 and 2395 Inspection & Testing qualifications as stand-alone courses or combined courses. These are aimed at practicing Electricians who require some training on inspection and testing.
The 2394 will prepare you for the initial verification of electrical installation work. The 2395 will prepare you for Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of existing electrical installations.
These two courses can be taken separately and completed in five days, however, if completed as a combined course together it will also be a five-day course. Once the course is complete the students need to sit two written exams which are both two hours long. These are scheduled on certain evenings and are taken at the centre here in Dartford.
However, this exam can now be taken online, it is still a closed book exam and still two hours long. You can now type it instead of writing it. The exams are externally marked by City & Guilds and you can expect to receive your results within two weeks if you complete the exam online. Although, if you complete the written exam, you can expect to wait up to eight weeks for your results.
After all written exams are past and the students are notified of this, we will schedule in some dates for the students to come in and completed their practical assessments.
The City & Guilds 2394/2395 Inspection and Testing course comes separately and are also included in the Gold Card package. People completing the Gold Card package will complete every course needed to become a fully qualified Electrician.
Our electrical students on the gold card package will complete various electrical courses at Able Skills, starting with the Level 2 Electrical course and then the 17th Edition and PAT Testing. After these are passed and completed, they will move onto the Level 3 Electrical course, once this is complete the next stage is the Inspection and Testing.
Once all practical and written assessments are complete our electrical students are registered onto the NVQ.
