Here at Able Skills, one of our most popular trades is electrics, we host a whole range of electrician courses. One course that every aspiring electrician should take up is our Level 2 Inspection & Testing this is a 5-day course that is perfect for both less experienced electricians and new entrants who need to enhance their Inspection and Testing skills as they enter the electrical installation environment. This electrical course was also developed as a stepping stone for individuals looking to move on to level 3 Inspection and Testing qualifications (as this is often a difficult subject for even the most experienced of electricians). - We have spaces available stating on the 27th April! 

 

 

Inspection & Testing is exactly what it sounds like the inspection of installations to check for any issues or faults and testing is to check if the installation is in working order and functions as it should. It is a vital part of most electrical jobs and is a qualification that every professional electrician should hold...This Inspection and testing qualification will not only helps you to fully understand testing, it also provides you with a qualification and certificate to show you are competent to undertake the work. It is a very essential skill and qualification to have for anyone undertaking electrical installations. We will cover a range of different aspects surrounding this topic including; Electrical Hazards & Safety, Safe Isolation Procedures, Correct use of Testing Instruments, The Correct Sequence of Tests, Insulation Resistance, Polarity and so much more. This electrical course is a mix of theory and hands-on practical learning that will prepare you for an online, multiple choice exam that will secure your qualification!

 

Time for Level 3?

 

This Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing also known as 2391 helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations at a higher level knowledge. Again this is a theory based course that will prepare you for both the online and written exam need for completion. The course is a comprehensive and complete look at all aspects of the skill of Inspection & Testing and will cover the following areas: 

 

Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations Requirements for initial verification of electrical installations Requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service Requirements for the safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations Requirements for testing before circuits are energised Requirements for testing energised installations Requirements for the completion of electrical installation certificates and associated documentation Safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of inspection and testing & commissioning Inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service Commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment Requirements for inspecting, testing and recording the condition of electrical installations Requirements for completing the periodic inspection of electrical installations The differences between periodic inspections and initial verifications Requirements for the safe testing of electrical installations which have been placed in service Understand and interpret test results Requirements for the completion of electrical installation condition reports and associated documentation How to confirm safety of system and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning How to carry out inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service How to test electrical installations prior to them being placed into service How to produce a condition report with recording observations and classifications
