Demand for carpentry courses may increase if wooden floors stay in fashion, with one source claiming such interior design is "very top end".
Interior designer Carolyn Park explained that this type of flooring has caused consumers to fall in love with decorations made from wood.
If this trend continues more workers may decide to sign up for carpentry courses, so that they can learn skills that could help them utilise the material.
Ms Park said: "Wooden floors are very fashionable and of course the benefit of them is that you can use them with underfloor heating, which goes back to the ecology."
She noted that different types of wood are being used depending on how much money people have to spend, since certain varieties such as olive, wenge and macassar may be a little too expensive for some customers.
According to the Britannica Encyclopedia, the macassar ebonby tree has charred-looking bark, with white wood underneath.
