It is time to get your 18th Edition done!
We take pride in our ability to provide excellent teaching to aspiring electricians through our electrician courses here at Able Skills. There is no better facility around when looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade. We have the facilities, materials, equipment and talented instructors in place to give you the ability to begin working in the industry whether that's as a domestic installer or through our fully-qualified route...One course that all electricians take is the 18th Edition! The latest wiring regulations are a must know for everyone who works with electrics, during our 3-day course aim for you to gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of the latest wiring regulations. We currently have dates available in April, May and June so if you haven't got up to speed with the latest regulations, now is the time!
Why is the 18th Edition important?
Most if not all electricians will need to have an understanding of the wiring regulations! Especially if you are looking to acquire an ECS card such as a 'Gold Card' - However, it is not just electricians who need an understanding of 18th Edition. Installers involved with any aspect of electrical installations should also have a comprehensive knowledge – this includes gas engineers and kitchen fitters and generally anybody working with or altering any electrical systems should have at least some understanding of the regulations.
How does the course work?
This course will be completely based within a classroom. Taught by one of our talented electrical instructors who have years of experience in the electrical industry as a whole and have been teaching the latest wiring regulations since they were released back in July 2018! We will ensure that you are fully prepared in every way for the City & Guilds 18th Edition test - To complete this course you will take a 2-hour multiple-choice, on-line examination here at our training centre. The exam is 'open book', meaning that you will be able to look up wiring regs and refer to the 18th edition book during the exam process. The trick to successfully completing this course is paying attention to where different sections are within the book and how to get to different pieces of information quickly. Having the book with you does not make the assessment easy, you will need to concentrate and engage with the course completely over the 3-days.
