Able Skills launches virtual tours of the training centre so prospective students can look around without having to travel
Showcase for prospective students
We want all prospective students to be able to see what facilities we have here before they book on to a course. We want them to know that what they see is what they get.
For that reason, we already have an open house policy. This means that during our opening hours, anyone interested in what we do can come and visit. There’s no need to book an appointment to do that, you can simply turn up and we will show you around. This gives anyone the opportunity to ask questions about the courses, talk to staff and even current students, and see the centre in action while training is going on.
But what if you live further away? We know that if you don’t live locally, it’s not practical to pop down and see us. And because of our student accommodation, we attract students from all over the UK and beyond.
We already use our website, YouTube channel and social media platforms to showcase authentically what we do. But we’re aware that these don’t show the size and scale of the facilities or allow you to explore and look around.
Launch of Able Skills virtual tours
To overcome that, we now provide virtual tours of the facilities, where prospective students can visit the centre via an immersive online experience with step-by-step navigation.
The virtual tours launched earlier this week on a dedicated page of our website, allowing anyone to look around any department and round the whole site.
Filming and mapping the facilities
Using the services of PRO 360 Virtual Tours and Matterport technology, filming took place while the centre was closed to students so that the whole centre could be mapped for the footage.
Features of the virtual tours include:
- Exploring the 3D space via fully interactive step-by-step navigation
- Interactive floor plan and dolls house view of the site
- Floor selector to move from the ground floor to the first floor
