Gas courses:
One of the most common ways that plumber expand their abilities is by becoming Gas Safe Registered - being able to provide both boiler services and plumbing work is a great way to broaden your customer base, reputation and earnings! Because we know that this is a typical route for plumbers to take we have devised a specific course for current plumbers...Our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 2 is the perfect way to get acquainted with this trade! This course is the complete package: 6-weeks of domestic safety training, portfolio completion and an ACS assesment!
Energy Efficiency Course:
Next, our Energy Efficiency Course - This course is designed to provide practising workers with the knowledge required to advise customers on how to get the best from their central heating system. This is a completely classroom-based course - You will learn about: energy efficiency considerations, the environment, customer benefits, boiler efficiency, SEDBUK ratings, CHESS best practice, combination boiler, soakaways, radiator sizing, boiler sizing, weather compensation, commissioning systems. This is just a 1-day course but will be very impactful if used effectively!
NVQ:
If you are already working as a Plumber but have never achieved a Plumbing NVQ then Able Skills has Assessors in place who can visit you at your place of work to establish your competence, give guidance on portfolio completion and help you on your way to achieving a Plumbing NVQ. An NVQ or National Vocational Qualification is very beneficial to have and can be achieved over two site visits from our assessors! (You will need to be in current employment to achieve this qualification)
For level 2, the work-based Plumbing assessments will be to establish your competence in being able to:
- Maintain the Safe Working Environment when Undertaking Work Activities.
- Maintain Effective Plumbing Working Relationships.
- Contribute to the Improvement of the Plumbing Work Environment.
- Install Non-complex Plumbing Systems and Components.
- Decommission Non-complex Plumbing Systems.
- Maintain Non-complex Plumbing Systems and Components.
