Industry professionals who have taken electrician training courses and live in the Gloucester region could find themselves in demand as a result of a new deal between Lovell and Gloucester City Homes (GCH).
According to housebuilding firm Lovell, it has been named on a £30 million property reactive repairs and maintenance contract by GCH, which manages Gloucester City Council's 5,000 residential properties.
The firm already carries out the GCH's Decent Homes programme and will continue to do so as part of the new deal.
This involves electrical and rewiring work, the installation of new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating systems and other home improvement jobs, which could boost the employment prospects of electricians and plumbers in the area.
Commenting on the news, Lovell's managing director Stewart Davenport said: "We are committed to providing a customer-focused, efficient service which puts GCH's residents first."
The company is owned by parent group Morgan Sindall and works on more than 18,000 homes every year.
