Making home improvements? Why not learn some DIY skills!

We find ourselves in another national lockdown, again many of us are spending more time at home. According to recent statistics homeowners spent an average of £4,000 on home improvements in 2020 and the projection is that more than half of UK homeowners will spend over £6,000 each this year! If you, yourself are looking to redecorate, improve and change your surrounding, why not pick up some valuable DIY skills? Unfortunately, in accordance with government guidelines our training is currently suspended, however, we will be back as soon as possible offering our entire range of top-quality trade courses.

Even the small changes around the house make a huge difference! According to research by NICEIC - Many people around the country working from home have said that bad lighting is making working from home an annoyance, 66% admitted that poor home lighting was impacting their concentration levels. well, as record spending on home improvements continues, lighting has become a priority as 24% of those surveyed stated good home lighting made them feel better during the winter months and 27% said good lighting made them happier and more energetic! This is a very simple task but it goes to show that home improvements, improve your quality of life and it is definitely worth investing in your surroundings, especially as we spend more time at home than ever!

What DIY courses do we offer?

Taking on DIY tasks can be extremely satisfying and can save you a pretty penny. Here at our training centre we offer many different options for people interested in gaining some hands-on skills including; Introduction to Plumbing, our DIY Tiling course, DIY Decorating course, DIY Bricklaying course, Introduction to Plastering, Introduction to Carpentry and some varied courses such as our Handyman course that will give you an insight into multiple different trades. These courses are a great way to learn the basics and even result in City & Guilds certificates!

When are we back?

At the moment we are in the same boat as everyone else as we look to keep safe and keep in accordance with the governments advice. We are still conducting some remote courses such as our range of Home-Study options such as our Level 2 Electrical course, Level 3 Electrical course and our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing courses that all start at home for those looking to start a new venture! However, in centre training is currently suspended as we hope to be back as soon as it is possible to do safely!
